Last week, ahead of International Women’s Day, one of our Project Managers, Martha Zantides, attended and was a panellist at an AVIXA Diversity Council event, aimed to explore and celebrate the benefits of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
This event, sponsored by Sennheiser, included a wide range of high-profile companies and speakers, including Michael Blackman, MD at Integrated Systems Events, Sadie Groom, Women in AV and MD of the Bubble Agency, Jack Laidlaw, BSc Audio Visual Technology Programme Leader at Middlesbrough College and Charlotte Sweeney OBE, from Charlotte Sweeney Associates Ltd, to name a few!
The lack of women in tech is a topic frequently discussed, “It was great to be included on the panel, we were able to have an open and honest discussion about increasing diversity and inclusion in AV”, said Martha, “top of the agenda for me was looking at how we can diversify the talent pool. At TwistedPair, we are open to exploring this further, it starts with recruitment.”
It was a great event calling on attendees from all across the AV Industry, end users, tech managers, manufacturers, distributors, integrators, consultants and technicians. Sponsors included, Feltech, Hewshott International, AVI-SPL, Peerless-AV, NEC Corporation and more.
