Twisted Design & Deliver Uber’s New Technological EMEA Headquarters
Over the past decade, Twisted’s collaboration with Uber has evolved and strengthened. Initially, brought on to provide support on smart-hands and active IT projects across EMEA, Twisted now provides multiple services to this trailblazing company, including design, concept development and deployment, working closely with Uber’s Global Build Team.
So, when in 2020, Uber wanted to create an exciting new EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam, Twisted were to play a pivotal role in its realisation. Uber’s primary objective was to create a cutting-edge hub for its EMEA operations, bringing together disparate teams from across the city into a single location. The facility would offer a diverse range of workspaces tailored to different work styles, all with technology at the core. The design was to deliver the “wow” factor and ensure that visitors left with a memorable first impression.

Introduction
Twisted has always been committed to delivering comprehensive workplace technology solutions.
When the opportunity arose to design and implement the audio-visual, network infrastructure, structured cabling, and security systems for a prestigious 45,000 sq/ft venue in Paternoster Square, the team eagerly embraced the challenge.

The Brief
Convene sought to establish the largest above-ground meeting venue in the City of London, featuring a grand hall with a 900-person capacity, seven distinctive meeting spaces, and a signature gallery area with premium hospitality services.
The technology needed to seamlessly integrate with the venue’s contemporary design while enhancing the user experience.
The Solution
As a global lifestyle hospitality brand, Convene operates premium event venues, meeting rooms, and flexible workspaces.
Twisted engaged with Convene from the early stages of the Sancroft project, ensuring that the technology infrastructure delivered a premium experience while aligning with the venue’s design vision.
Technology Implementation
Venue Composition:
- A 45,000 sq/ft space incorporating:
- Two divisible presentation rooms
- Two single presentation rooms
- Two conference rooms
- One grand hall event space
- Background music and digital signage throughout the venue
Audio-Visual Solutions:
- A centralized Crestron control system for seamless AV management
- Each room equipped with desk-mounted touch panels and portable iPads for flexible control
- Event team capability to manage AV operations
Video Distribution:
- Powered by ZeeVee’s Zyper4K SDVoE platform
- High-quality projection featuring multiple Panasonic 10,000-lumen projectors with DA-Lite projection screens
- Panasonic ceiling-mounted cameras for event video capture and broadcasting
Digital Signage & Messaging:
- BrightSign digital signage solution integrated throughout the facility
- A Samsung 1.5mm PP LED display in the gallery
- Two additional 16:9 Samsung LED displays in the main gallery space
Passive IT Infrastructure:
- 600No Panduit Category 6a Copper outlets installed
- Panduit 0S2 Fibre Optic backbone
- Ortronics IT Cabinets and Vertical Cable Management System
- APC PDU’s and UPS installed and commissioned in 3No IT rooms
