When Steph walked into the TwistedPair office for her interview, something clicked. “It just felt right,” she says. That was nearly 13 years ago, and while the company has grown dramatically since then, some things haven’t changed – like the humour, the people, and the feeling that you’re part of something bigger.
Back in 2011, TwistedPair had just seven people. Steph became the company’s very first Office Admin, working side by side with the Office Manager, Jan Hall, to keep things running. Admin, accounts, a bit of everything – and as Steph says, “I interviewed on a Friday and got the job before I even made it home. The warmth and humour from Adam G and Jan in my interview, I felt like I knew them for years.”
Fast forward to today, and Steph is a Senior Project Manager leading multimillion-pound projects across EMEA. Her journey has taken her from reception to the boardroom (with a little light engineering in between). Steph knows she’s come a long way when she reflects on the years… “Back at the beginning, my first big challenge was buying Twisted’s first van in 2013, and in 2025, I PM’d over £6m in projects.”
Steph’s path through Twisted is a testament to how much growth is possible in the right environment. Her roles evolved through Office Admin, Purchasing, Project Coordination, Structured Cabling Pre-Sales, and into Project Management. Each step building on the last.
And she’s not the only one.
“Twisted is one big family, and the teamwork is like nothing you’ve seen before. It makes the day-to-day challenges worth it.”
From some of the biggest names in business to countless client fit-outs, Steph’s seen the company scale from scrappy startup to enterprise delivery machine, without losing the sense of community that pulled her in from day one.
There’s been a lot of learning, too.
“Take your annual leave and learn to have a break. Accept help from others. It doesn’t reflect badly on you.”
As for what makes a great PM? Planning, multitasking, communication – but more than that, leaning on your team.
“You don’t have to do it all yourself.”
These days, when she’s not running large-scale rollouts, Steph’s on an 18ft paddleboard with her husband, two kids, and dog. But ask her where her heart is, and it’s still with the people who make Twisted what it is.
“My first TwistedPair Christmas party was the moment I knew this place was for me. The OGs here are part of my work and personal life.”
Looking ahead? Steph says it best:
